Tonight on Late Nights for the Longing, we will be bringing you new tracks from musicians that have been newly released within the last few months. Music from Jherek Bichoff's masterpiece Composed, Nate Brenner's (tUnE-yArDs bassist) musical endeavor Naytronix, roughly mixed sounds from the upcoming Mandaryn Dynasty album Feedback Time, a song from OCnotes recently released (and free) album What's Your Sign, Portland's Virgin Blood, and some new Karl Blau music.
We will also be joined by special guest Lily Kerson, drummer and one half of the freak-out duo, The Creakies. Lily will be providing your ears with a special selection of music for the first hour and goofing around with SLQTRRR Slashed Tires.
So exciting!

1985 "What Is Real America?" Greyhound Tour/Documentary Project
Posted By DJ Co-Pocket on 08/27/2012 at 04:54AM

(the Peoples Library, 5,000 books, Zucotti Park, OWS/NYC before being destroyed by cops)
hey, its Matt Fu (aka DJ Co-Pocket), of The Corner Pocket Show & the Hollow Earth Board of Directors. I wanted to let you folks, near and far, know about this monthlong greyhound tour I am going on in September with my band (solo) 1985. I will, of course, be playing shows in wonderful towns across the country but a big focus of the tour is also this documentary project and audio/video recording I will be doing of various DIY/underground & all-ages art, music & activist scenes around the country. I would love any and all recommendations you might have of bright, active spaces and people in the areas my tour finds me traveling through! If you think you might be a good fit yourself for an interview, or know of some folks or resources that would be good to cover, please send me an email or message on the interwebs! Below are a couple links for the tour, my band and the record label I run (MASA Records). Would love to hear from you and please do stay in touch below to receive updates and reports from the road! The tour will also find me visiting NYC during the one year anniversary of Occupy Wall Street and there are many wonderful things in the works for that!

Art Talks Showcase - Young Artists display projects they've been working on at Hollow Earth
Posted By DJ Elle on 11/28/2012 at 06:33PM
Recently, Art Talks paired young Seattle artists (15-19) with professional adult artist mentors. Together they worked on a project that envisions their city in the year 2022.
The workshop covered a gamut of topics from violence to economics, education, ecology, and coming age in a digital world. Participants were asked to read about and explore these topics in group discussion. They looked at existing examples of art and culture that explore urban issues and then the artists were set free to create.
SHOW CASE
Tonight is the culmination. A live performance on Hollow Earth Radio (Wednesday August 8th, 8:00pm), as well as a open house display of all the visual work. Free and open to friends, family and the community.
Featuring:
Musicians Upendo Moore, Meron Kasahun & Jordan Williams
Filmmaker Dylan Thomas
Poet Lucille Corbit
Photographers Terry Tran & Maddy Queary
The Mentors:

In-Studio Tonight with New Zealand's Team Ugly
Posted By SLQTRRR Slashed Tires on 08/06/2012 at 09:44PM
Late Nights for the Longing begins at 8pm tonight, with an in-studio with New Zealand's punk band, Team Ugly at 9pm. You may recognize one of the members from this band being Ary Jansen who played in their grunge band, Onesie, last year at Hollow Earth.
Team Ugly is fortunately able to be in Seattle and have an extra day to play at HER before heading further East on a tour with Seattle's garage/punk outfit Lindseys. They played their first "official" tour concert last night at the Josephine but I was unable to attend this event since I had made plans prior in the week. I had some good quality friend time involving ice cream embedded with matled milkballs. It was an evening hit.
Anyway…
It'll be fun tonight.
